Welcome to ihpa.org.uk (the “Site”). We understand that privacy online is important to users of our Site, especially when conducting business. Providing us with personal information and opinions is an act of trust – we take our responsibilities for this trust very seriously and welcome any comments from web users regarding the privacy of their information.

This statement governs our privacy policies with respect to those users of the Site (“Visitors”) who visit without transacting business and Visitors who register to transact business on the Site and make use of the various services offered by Independent Health Professionals Association (IHPA) (collectively, “Services”) (“Authorized Members”).

Independent Health Professionals Association (IHPA) is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.

Information We Collect
Independent Health Professionals Association (IHPA) collects data that is both personally identifiable and unidentifiable either electronically or otherwise. Ways we collect information from you are by you voluntarily providing this on registration for use of the Site or on signing up for an event, service, newsletter or participating in polls. We also use cookies.

Cookies
A “cookie” is a small data text file that is stored on your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other device when you visit a website or use an app. It allows us to recognize you each time you visit the Site (customisation etc). Some cookies are necessary for the website to function properly and this is usually related to logging in into the members area. Independent Health Professionals Association (IHPA) use Google Analytics (just like virtually everybody else) which is a service provided by Google. Use of Information
Personal information will never be sold, shared, or rented by IHPA without your prior consent. It should be noted that, because IHPA does not control the privacy practices of external links, we advise that you read and fully understand their privacy policies.

IHPA remains the sole owner of the information collected. Where information is volunteered and subsequently collected that can identify the respondent this is used to provide insights and information that will allow us to provide services in line with what you want. No contact will be made to individual respondents unless specifically authorised by that respondent.

  • To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.
  • To notify you about changes to our service.

We may email Visitors and Authorized Members about research or purchase and selling opportunities on the Site or information related to the subject matter of the Site. We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to contact Visitors and Authorized Members in response to specific inquiries, or to provide requested information.

With whom may the information may be shared?
IHPA has entered into and will continue to enter into partnerships and other affiliations with a number of vendors. Such vendors may have access to certain Personally Identifiable Information on a need to know basis for evaluating Authorized Members for service eligibility.

Personally Identifiable Information about Authorized Members may be shared with other Authorized Members who wish to evaluate potential transactions with other Authorized Members. We may share personal identifiable information with our affiliated agencies to provide certain services eg locum agencies, insurers, tax advisers. We may share aggregated information about our Visitors, including the demographics of our Visitors and Authorized Members, with our affiliated agencies and third party vendors. We also offer the opportunity to “opt out” of receiving information or being contacted by us or by any agency acting on our behalf.

Competitions and Draws
Where individual information is required to identify a winner of a competition or draw this may be revealed to the appropriate client. Please refer to individual competition rules which will refer to the requirements for publicity of winners names.

Security and Storage of Information Collected
IHPA are committed to maintaining the security of the data we collect and has appropriate security measures in place to protect against loss, misuse or alteration of such information. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers, is protected by encryption protocols, in place to protect information sent over the Internet. While we take commercially reasonable measures to maintain a secure site, electronic communications and databases are subject to errors, tampering and break-ins, and we cannot guarantee or warrant that such events will not take place and we will not be liable to Visitors or Authorized Members for any such occurrences. IHPA acknowledges and firmly supports the Data Protection Act 1998.

Amending or deleting information held by Independent Health Professionals Association (IHPA)
If you would like to change or deactivate the information you have submitted and have been unable to do this from any of the interfaces provided on your profile page, please send a request to us with details via the website contact form or email info@ihpa.org.uk. We will carry out any request within a reasonable amount of time, unless we are required or authorised by law not to do so.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
To fully protect your privacy, we reserve the right to amend this policy at any time, and for any reason. We will post the amended terms on this website as they occur and encourage you to frequently check for updates. However, if we are changing our privacy policy in a manner that might cause disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information that a Visitor or Authorized Member has previously requested not be disclosed, we will contact such Visitor or Authorized Member to allow such Visitor or Authorized Member to prevent such disclosure.

No Contract or Liability
Nothing contained in this policy is intended to create a contract or agreement between IHPA and any user providing identifiable information in any form, whether visiting this site or any client web site. Jurisdiction for this agreement will be held under English Law and proceedings brought in any court of competent jurisdiction in London. We will take all necessary steps to comply with this privacy policy, however, to the extent permitted by law, nothing in this policy is intended to hold IHPA liable for any failure to comply with this policy.

Transferring information
You consent to us transferring your personal data to other companies in and out of the EEA only for the purposes mentioned above. We shall endeavour to ensure that your personal data is kept confidential and secure.

Remember The Risks Whenever You Use The Internet
While we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that you transmit to the site and you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any passwords or other account information. In addition, other Internet sites or services that may be accessible through the site have separate data and privacy practices independent of us, and therefore we disclaim any responsibility or liability for their policies or actions.
